Football and "Survivor" won Sunday night, as the majority of TV viewers tuned in to either the "Survivor: South Pacific" finale or NBC's Sunday Night Football. That's to be expected, considering we're into the latter half of December when reruns reign supreme.

CBS edged out NBC in viewership to win the night, though. The network scored nearly 16 million viewers with a 9.2 rating/15 share in households. NBC was the night's runner-up, with 11.8 million viewers and a 7.3/12, followed by ABC (4.8 million, 2.8/4) and FOX (4.2 million, 2.4/4).

In the 18-49 demographic, the distance between CBS and NBC was much closer, with CBS eking out a win with a 4.5, NBC getting a 4.3, and FOX (1.8) and ABC (1.3) bringing up the rear.
