TV ratings: 'The Bachelor' and 'Deception' open quietly on BCS Monday
The premiere of "The Bachelor" helped ABC score a win in total viewers Monday night, but the premiere was off a little from its debut last year.
NBC's new drama "Deception" also opened pretty quietly -- it led the 10 o'clock hour among adults 18-49, but only with a 2.0 rating. "The Biggest Loser" fell from its Sunday premiere but was still the night's top show in the 18-49 demographic -- on the broadcast networks, anyway. The BCS title game on ESPN will be the night's top show overall.
ABC drew 7.4 million viewers and a 5.0 rating/7 share in households in primetime. NBC (6.1 million, 3.9/6) came in second, beating out CBS (5.4 million, 3.7/5). FOX took fourth with 3.8 million viewers and a 2.4/3. The CW (937,000, 0.6/1) trailed.
NBC scored a narrow win among adults 18-49 with a 2.2 rating, edging ABC's 2.1. CBS came in third with a 1.4, followed by FOX, 0.9, and The CW, 0.4.
