TV ratings: 'The Carrie Diaries' has OK premiere Monday while '2 Broke Girls' and CBS lead
The premiere of "The Carrie Diaries" scored decent ratings for The CW Monday night, drawing significantly more viewers than "90210" typically does in the 8 o'clock hour. A repeat at 9 p.m. outdrew "Gossip Girl's" overnight average.
Elsewhere, CBS' Monday comedy block started 2013 with a bang, as "How I Met Your Mother," "2 Broke Girls" and "Mike & Molly" all posted their biggest total audiences of the season. Week two "The Bachelor" improved some for ABC, while "The Biggest Loser" held steady for NBC. The news wasn't as good for "Deception," which dropped off a good amount from its premiere.
CBS brought in 10.7 million viewers and a 6.7 rating/10 share in households for the night. ABC (8 million, 5.2/8) edged FOX (7.9 million, 4.8/7) for second overall. NBC came in fourth with 5.6 million viewers and a 3.5/5. The CW (1.3 million, 0.8/1) trailed.
The adults 18-49 title also went to CBS, which posted a 3.3 rating in the demographic. ABC took second with a 2.2, and NBC and FOX tied for third at 2.1. The CW came in at 0.5.
