TV ratings: 'The Voice' finale up over last year, 'New Girl' and 'Glee' also rise

The finale of "The Voice" improved on its ratings from a year ago, carrying NBC to a victory among adults 18-49 for the night. "Glee" and the "New Girl" season finale also were up compared to last week, and "NCIS" was up some in total viewers.

On the down side, "Private Practice" took a pretty sizable hit opposite "The Voice" and the season finale of "Unforgettable" on CBS. "Dancing With the Stars" was also down a little.

CBS averaged 14.35 million viewers and a 9.2 rating/15 share in households to lead Tuesday's overall race. NBC (9.2 million, 5.5/9) finished second, beating out ABC (8.35 million, 5.6/9). FOX came in fourth with 5.5 million viewers and a 3.4/5, while The CW drew 1 million people and a 0.7/1.

NBC scored a 3.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, topping CBS' 2.7. FOX finished third with a 2.4, followed by ABC, 1.8, and The CW, 0.4.
