TV ratings: World Series dips a little from 2010, 'Modern Family' stays on top
Game 1 of the World Series was down a small amount in the ratings (as things stand now, anyway) from last year's opening game, but it still carried FOX to an overall win on Wednesday night. "Modern Family," meanwhile, remained the night's top show among adults 18-49, keeping up its consistent performance this season.
FOX delivered 12.9 million viewers and a 7.9 rating/13 share in households for the night (those numbers will be adjusted some for the live World Series telecast). CBS took second with 11.6 million viewers and a 7.2/11, followed by ABC (8.9 million, 5.6/9). NBC (6.9 million, 4.5/7) was up a little in viewers over last week, while The CW (1.55 million, 1.1/2) was pretty much even.
The World Series also gave FOX a win in the 18-49 demographic, scoring a 3.9 rating. ABC and CBS tied for second at 3.3. NBC drew a 1.7 in the demo and The CW a 0.6.
