two-and-a-half-men-cast.jpgAs it usually does, CBS will concentrate most of its season premieres for fall 2011 in the first official week of the season. The network will also use its two biggest comedies to help launch new shows during premiere week.

"Two and a Half Men" will premiere at 9 p.m. ET Monday, Sept. 19 to what's likely to be a bigger-than-usual audience tuning into see how the show dispatches of Charlie Sheen's character and welcomes Ashton Kutcher into the mix. It will be followed by the new comedy "2 Broke Girls," which airs at 9:30 for one week only before settling into the 8:30 Monday spot the next week. ( "How I Met Your Mother" will air two episodes on the 19th, while "Mike & Molly" debuts Sept. 26.)

On Sept. 22, back-to-back episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" will lead into the new drama "Person of Interest," starring Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel and created by "The Dark Knight" co-wrter Jonah Nolan.

"Our playbook is pretty consistent: Wherever and whenever possible we use established successful series to introduce new shows," says Kelly Kahl, senior executive VP for CBS Primetime. "We've also asked a couple of our strongest series to work overtime during premiere week in order to support the new series and bolster our performance."
