'Under the Dome' Season 2 adds Sherry Stringfield; watch a new 'Amish Mafia' teaser

- "ER" alumna Sherry Stringfield is joining Season 2 of "Under the Dome." Her character, Pauline, is described as "a mysterious woman who may be connected to the origins of the dome." Could she also have some ties to some residents of Chester's Mill? Perhaps. Stringfield's part is recurring; "Under the Dome" returns in the summer. [ TV Guide]

- Discovery has released a new promo for the upcoming premiere of "Amish Mafia." The series returns to Tuesday (Feb. 25) at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Watch the video below:


- ABC has cast major roles in three of its drama pilots. Judd Hirsch ( "Numb3rs," "Taxi") will co-star in "Forever" as Abe, the best friend of Dr. Henry Morgan, an immortal medical examiner in New York City. Kathleen Munroe ( "Alphas") has been cast in "Clementine," the story of a young, psychic woman who decides to stop running from her past. Munroe will play Lydia, a practical woman often at odds with the main character. "Sea of Fire" -- the story of what happens after three teenager girls who starred in a pornographic film that led to destroyed families, a disappearance and a murder -- has cast Keir Gilchrist. - On the comedy front, ABC has found lead actresses for two pilots. Paget Brewster ("Criminal Minds") will star opposite Michael Imperioli in "Saint Francis," about a cop (Imperioli) who takes in his younger sister when she gets pregnant. Brewster will play Impieroli's wife, who's more supportive of the sister than her husband is. Also, Tracee Ellis Ross ("Girlfriends") will play Anthony Anderson's wife in "Black-ish," about a middle-class African-American family.

- A&E is developing "The 36," a supernatural drama from Charley and Vlas Parlapanides ("The Immortals") and Michael London. The concept for the show has dark angels, called Nephilim, living on Earth and only kept from taking over by the Righteous 36 -- people around the world with special abilities. Dane, the main character, is a complicated hero who learns that he is in the middle of the battle for humanity. [ Deadline

- Wendell Pierce is moving back to premium-cable drama following the end of "The Michael J. Fox Show" on NBC. Pierce ("The Wire," "Treme") has joined Season 2 of Showtime's "Ray Donovan," where he'll have a recurring part as a "down on his luck parole officer who gets a payoff from Ray ( Liev Schreiber)."

- CBS has promoted Nina Tassler to chairman of CBS Entertainment and extended her contract through 2017. Tassler formerly had the title of president of CBS Entertainment. Her new title gives her oversight of all of CBS' prime-time, late-night and daytime programming and development, along with the network's new limited series and live event unit.
