"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens is talking about the infamous nude photo scandal that made her a household name, but not in the way she was hoping. In 2007, naked pictures of the actress were spread across the internet, she was 18 at the time. Now, at age 24, Hudgens is telling Paper Magazine how the incident really made her feel.
"That was such a s***** situation that sucked," she says, "That was by far the worst moment of my career." At the time Hudgens was a well-known young actress, with a bright future ahead of her. As one of the stars of the first two parts of the "High School Musical" franchise, many wondered if she would be asked back for the third. Disney, who made the movies, stood behind the actress. She apologized to her fans for the photos, and moved on.
Since the photos ended up online, Hudgens has had supporting roles in a few movies, including "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," and "Sucker Punch." Her next film, "Spring Breakers," is from the writer/director of 1995's "Kids." Hudgens stars with a couple other former child actresses, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Benson, as well as James Franco. The girls, joined by Rachel Korine, rob a restaurant to fund a Spring break trip to Florida, where they meet up with Alien, a drug dealer played by Franco. "Spring Breakers" will be in theaters March 22, just in time for Spring break.
