There's one awards show you might not know about, because it's not televised. The Streamys, first held in 2009, give awards for web video series, like the Emmys do for television. There are awards for writing, acting, hosting, and even technical achievement The 2013 edition of the show, hosted by Chris Hardwick, was held in Los Angeles, Cal. Sunday.
Naturally, as it's a web show, it's a lot looser than what you'd get tuning into a television broadcast. You probably wouldn't see a 12 minute performance from Vanilla Ice on any other awards show, but that's where the Streamys comes through. Ice performed a few songs, accompanied by several different musicians.
The highlight, of course, was his performance of "Ice Ice Baby." Something else that should have been a highlight was opening his set with "Ninja Rap," the song he performs in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze." Unfortunately, it was some strange remix version, that included more talk about Juggalos and the Insane Clown Posse, than it did Ninja Turtles.
Heads up, there's some rough language in the video. The entire 2013 Streamy Awards can also be viewed on YouTube.
