Versace mansion: Infamous South Beach Miami murder scene up for auction
The 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom, 23,000 square-foot oceanfront estate was previously listed for $125 million. Fisher Auction Company expects potential buyers from around the world to be drawn to the Versace mansion's 24-karat gold lined swimming pool and various over-the-top luxuries.
Versace had lived in the 1930s home for five years and shelled out $33 million on renovations when he was shot dead in front of the property in 1997. Police say the 50-year-old designer was murdered by 27-year-old Andrew Cunanan, who used the same gun to kill himself on a boat days later.
Versace's mansion is now a tourist attraction in Miami Beach, and operated briefly as a boutique hotel.
