taylor-swift-shake-it-off-performance-2014-mtv-vmas.jpgTaylor Swift certainly made up for her red carpet wardrobe mistake when she performed her new, already-hit single "Shake It Off" at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

For the performance, T-Swizzle wore a stunning silver fringe number with her signature red lipstick. Surrounded by a group of male dancers in tuxedos, she was reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe's famous "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" performance from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."

Swift recently teased her "Shake It Off" performance would be surprising and it was, in the most beautiful of ways. Swift showcased a different side of herself with the performance, where instead of jamming out on a guitar, the singer strolled and danced all over the stage, with wind blowing through her hair in a vivacious rendition of her newest hit, from her upcoming album "1989."
