Was a billboard of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart 'burning' in Times Square: Robsten fans get the facts wrong
The billboard is in Times Square, and since Pattinson is currently in New York City to promote his film "Cosmopolis" -- and to make his first public appearances since Stewart was busted cheating on him with her director, Rupert Sanders -- "Twilight" fans took it as a particular affront. Within an hour of a fan snapping this pic, rumors spread that Comedy Central had actually set a "Breaking Dawn Part 2" billboard on fire in order to drum up anticipation for "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart.
Though the billboard was the work of Comedy Central, it wasn't a promotion for Pattinson's appearance on Monday's episode of "The Daily Show." It's actually an ad for "The Burn," a new show premiering August 14.
"The Burn" features comedian Jeff Ross roasting public figures like Christina Aguilera, Snoop Dogg, and more. Even the "Twilight" golden couple won't be spared on the brutal, cutting comedy show. The billboard, which also featured several other celebrities, politicians, and athletes burning, was just an attention-grabber -- and clearly, it worked.
