bob-costas-botox-eye-infection-olympics-rumor.jpgThere's a new theory floating around as to the cause of Bob Costas' eye infection that sidelined him from the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics: botox.

According to Page Six, the viral conjunctivitis that felled the veteran sports anchor for six days during the Sochi games was caused by botched Botox -- and it wasn't the first time Costas had undergone the procedure.

The gossip column posted the tidbit despite the fact that an NBC Sports spokesperson says, "This has zero truth to this. Zero."

Costas told reporters before his triumphant return to the air that the infection caused light sensitivity and blurred vision, which is why Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira had to sit in for him for almost a week.
