wasabi-chan-dies-ig.jpgThe cutest kitten to ever go viral, Wasabi-chan from Japan has sadly passed away. The latest photo on little Wasabi's Instagram page, says (when translated by Google), " I passed away around 1:30 18:00 wasabi. I worked hard to the end. I was happy being watched for those around the world a lot."

PICS: Wasabi-chan's life in Japan with canine companion, Ponzu

Wasabi-chan made a name for its little cat self when its owner posted a photo of the little kitty in a crocheted mushroom suit, that was picked up and passed around by Redditors.
The initial Reddit post read as follows:

"This little one is called Wasabi-chan. She was rescued after being attacked by a crow. Her top jaw was fractured, a hole in her throat, tongue was ripped, and part of gum was eaten. The rescuer was feeding her with a tube which Wasabi-chan hates, thus this crochet straitjacket (Grandma's handmade) to hold her down while feeding. Some pointed out the photo looks abusive, so the rescuer tweeted she'll not put any more of those. She's gaining a lots of weights and looking adorable!"

Many adorable pics were to follow, as fans of cats and general adorableness watched the apparently epileptic kitty try to get better with its golden retriever pal, Ponzu, at its side. The world will miss you, precious little Wasabi-chan. Rest in peace.
