If there's one thing the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are famous for, it's their unrivaled talent for high-kicks, splits and sideline dancing in their trademark white hotpants and cowboy boots.
But if there's something the squad's CMT reality show, "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team" is known for, it may be the terrible dancing the judges are faced with each season at auditions.
From cringe-inducing twerking to eyebrow-raising choreography, and even the occasional this-can-only-go-wrong backflip, they're all caught on camera for "Making the Team."
CMT will air a sneak peek Friday (Aug. 23) at 9 p.m. of the worst dancing and most ill-fitting audition outfits from Season 8 -- along with the cream of the crop dancers, about whom squad director Kelli Finglass says, "I could put a uniform on them today." But Zap2it has your first look at the video now.
"There are some that I wonder, 'Why is she trying out for this group? She cannot dance,'" says Finglass, as the worst of the worst take the stage. "What is she thinking?" Yes, Kelli, we are asking ourselves that very same question. As one particular dancer twerks all over the floor, body tattoos covered poorly with foundation makeup, team choreographer Judy Trammell says to Finglass, "She's making me nervous." Yes ... us too.
Trammell says she feels bad for the women who audition but clearly have no shot of making it. "And I also give them a lot of credit," she says. "Because that takes a lot of guts." As several women fall all over themselves -- quite literally -- for a shot at making the famous dance team, Finglass says, "I think some of them practiced these moves, and planned it ... That's the scary thing."
And then there are the amazingly skilled dancers, oozing with showmanship, who Kelli is ready to tell, "Get your passport." But they're not as fun to talk about, so just watch them rock it out in the sneak peek video below.
"Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team" Season 8 premieres Sept. 6 on CMT.
