One of the most promising pilots of the 2014-15 TV season has made its way online early. FOX's new series "Red Band Society," about a group of sick teens living in the pediatricians wing of a hospital and the doctors and nurses who care for them, is "The Breakfast Club" meets "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" in the best way imaginable.

Also in the best way imaginable was the way in which FOX chose to premiere the pilot online. Move over ALS Ice Bucket Challenge -- FOX made the first episode of "Red Band Society" available for 100 hours only after enough people shared content about the series on social media that the network donated $100,000 to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Ryan Seacrest Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Teen Cancer America and Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Take advantage of this opportunity, because the pilot will only be available online for streaming from Friday, Aug. 22 to Tuesday, Aug. 26. It is also available on FOX On Demand for customers of AT&T U-verse, Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Charter, Cox, Mediacom, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, Xfinity and more cable providers, as well as online on Hulu.com (above), FOX.com and FOX NOW.

Starring Octavia Spencer, Dave Annable, Charlie Rowe, Astro, Griffin Gluck, Ciara Bravo, Zoe Levin and Thomas Ian Nicholas, "Red Band Society" premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
