Watch Jimmy Fallon's first stand-up appearance: He won $700 in a contest
In honor of Jimmy Fallon's premiere as host of "The Tonight Show," videos of his early days are going viral online -- watch his "Saturday Night Live" audition here. But the absolute best is the video above, of Fallon's first stand-up performance.
The gig is at Bananas Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. As Fallon said on the season premiere of "Inside Comedy," it was a radio contest where entrants had two minutes to do a stand-up act and could win a cash prize. Fallon's call was doing a commercial for Troll Dolls in various impressions, like John Travolta, Cliff Clavin from "Cheers," Rocky Balboa, Rocky from "Bullwinkle" and Pee Wee Herman.
Fallon won the contest and the $700 prize, which he said seemed like a huge amount of money to the 17-year-old budding comedian.
