Of all the times you'd think Santa Claus is safe, Black Friday has to be near the top of the list. After all, if anyone has a lot of gifts to buy, it's jolly old Saint Nick. Claus was arrested Friday morning (November 29) at a Walmart in Ontario, Calif., though.
Actually, it was a man dressed as Santa who was arrested during a protest at the store, with similar protests happening around the country. The aim of the protests is to shed light on employees of Walmart who want better working conditions. They want higher pay, with Warehouse Workers United saying most of the company's employees make under $17,000 a year, KTLA reports.
According to the LA Times, the man dressed as Santa was one of ten protesters who blocked traffic after being told to get out of the street. They were taken into custody for civil disobedience. In the video below, Santa can be seen sitting on the ground in handcuffs, alongside his fellow protesters. The photo comes care of laprensaofficial on Instagram.
Hopefully someone will post bail for him before Christmas.
