That's a pretty good career trajectory for a young actor. Haro holds his own just fine opposite the veteran stars of the show -- Ricardo Chavira and Justina Machado as his parents and Mike O'Malley and Mary McCormack as the parents of his girlfriend ( Ella Rae Peck), who announces on their high school graduation day that she's pregnant.
Haro's ability to keep up with his well-known co-stars makes him one of Zap2it's Ones to Watch for 2013-14. Get to know him a little better with the following Q-and-A.
What's the current home-screen picture on your phone?
A quote by Rumi. "The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; Everything that you want, you already are."
What are your can't-miss TV shows?
"Breaking Bad." I also can't miss Ty Burrell in "Modern Family."
What's a song that always makes you happy when you hear it?
"Let It Be" by The Beatles. "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen.
What's the most embarrassing song on your iPod?
"Stand Out" from "A Goofy Movie." But I'm actually really proud of that one so ...
Zombie apocalypse or alien invasion?
First instinct: neither. But if I had to pick -- zombie apocalypse. Aliens would be far too intelligent, and at least there's a zombie survival guide to reference.
What's the last item you purchased?
Paul Newman and A. E. Hotchner's book "In Pursuit of the Common Good."
Do you have any current pop-culture obsessions?
Honestly, I can't think of one. Have tiny houses caught on yet?
What's the worst injury you've ever had?
I broke my finger and had to get pins put in. That, and a hot glue gun burn.
Do you have any nicknames?
Joey. Joe. J-Dawg. Or as Siri knows me -- "Sexy Thing."
Your first kiss -- who and when?
I don't remember her name, but she was a fifth grader and I was a third grader. Talk about a cougar.
What's the worst place you have ever been to?
The metaphoric place of fear and insecurity. and the DMV.

Culinary chef, Olympic swimmer, or if it counts, a director.

Relaxing in a lake house with all the people I love.
Is there a celebrity that you have met and been starstruck by?
Not yet, but there is definitely a short list of those who could do it.
What goes in your carry-on bag on the plane?
Shirts, pants, underwear, socks, toiletries, iPad, headphones. I travel light.
What's your favorite beverage?
Good ol' H2O, unsweetened iced tea, and ginger beer.
What food can you not resist?
Brownies. Sweet potato fries. Vanilla ice cream.
What do your friends make fun of you for?
My dad jokes, my interest in tiny houses, and always playing devil's advocate in situations.
What clique did you belong to in high school?
I was a theatre nerd for sure, but I went to an arts high school so all of us were creative nerds in our own way.
