What are 'Survivor' stars most thankful for? Breakfast burritos, Jell-O shots and moreAdd to Favorites | Survivor: Philippines
Braving the elements for up to 39 days, Castaways are deprived of food, shelter, sleep and basic amenities -- all while battling to outwit, outplay and outlast their fellow competitors.
This Thanksgiving, we checked in with the cast of "Survivor: Philippines" to find out what they appreciate most now that they are back at home.
Carter Williams: I'm thankful for Keanu Reeves movies and breakfast burritos.
Jonathan Penner: I'm thankful for my friends and loved ones and my health. And I'm thankful to live in the greatest country in history during the greatest period of history. But mostly I'm thankful for my two beautiful kids and my disarmingly fantastic wife. As Robert Palmer said, "Simply irresistible!"
Lisa Whelchel: I am thankful for my four adult children who are also my best, favorite and most interesting friends. I am also thankful for my second-best friends...all my books on my Kindle.
Malcolm Freberg: I'm thankful for late-night delivery -- after having to work for hours to produce a handful of unflavored, dirt rice, the concept of making a phone call and having whatever you want brought to your door is mind-blowing. You don't even have to put on pants -- which is, actually, a lot like Survivor.
Michael Skupin: At the risk of sounding cliché, I'm thankful for family. I have a wife who is way north of awesome & seven amazing kids from ages 7 to 24 that keep me thoroughly entertained and crazy at the same time. Secondly, I'm thankful for the opportunity to build a life that many people in other countries that I've worked with will never share. I'm not thankful for "things" but more for the things that money can't buy like faith, love, hope, peace, friendship and happiness.
Pete Yurkowski: I'm thankful for other states helping out the East Coast post-Sandy. Recovery here is expedited because of it and hopefully most of my childhood spots can be rebuilt. I'm also thankful for the inventor of Whipahol. Jell-O shots needed a partner in crime.
Jeff Kent: There is no gift more special to me than my family. My wife and four children, who love unconditionally and rely on my love and support, is something I am very thankful for.
Artis Silvester: What I am eternally thankful for is the gift of a second chance at life. [The Philippines' most recent castoff is a cancer survivor.]
Denise Stapley: I am absolutely thankful for the feeling of a good hug, the connection of a warm smile, and the words we all need to hear: "I love you."
Abi-Maria Gomes: I am thankful for the little things in life. Like taking a shower and brushing my teeth. Simple luxuries that we take advantage of and really don't pay attention to much. The simple things started to count the most for me, after my experience.
R.C. Saint-Amour: I am truly thankful for the love, warmth and support of my devoted family.
Russell Swan: I am thankful that I have much to be thankful for.
