When does 'Chicago PD' premiere? Plus 'Revolution,' 'Modern Family,' and more TV returns
Now that the holidays are over, TV is picking back up with new episodes of returning shows, new seasons and new series premiering. So what's kicking off tonight, Wednesday Jan. 8?
In the series premiere of the "Chicago Fire" spinoff, "Chicago PD," after a slew of brutal slayings, District 21, led by Sergeant Hank Voight go after a Columbian drug cartel cleaning house in Chicago. They discover D'Anthony who proves to be an asset in the investigation. At District, complicated histories and unit rivalries surface which could end up costing them one of their own. Meanwhile, Rookie Kyle Ruzek is pulled from the police academy by Olinski to join the team. "Chicago PD" premieres at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
"Revolution" returns from its winter hiatus at 8 p.m. ET on NBC with an all-new episode. Monroe forms an unlikely team with Miles and Rachel to find his long-lost son.
"The Middle" returns at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Frankie and Mike start to worry when Brick begins developing irrational fears while Sue is conflicted about Derrick Glossner's behavior. Axl and Sean shut down Darrin's attempt to start a Boss Co spinoff.
"Psych" Season 8 premieres at 9 p.m. ET on USA. Shawn and Gus take off to London in order to "solve" a case with international mystique to it ... maybe. That's at least what Shawn seems to be doing, as Gus acts much more interested in trying to get himself to some sort of celebration of all things Harry Potter.
"Law & Order: SVU" returns at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. "The Beast" returns when Detective Benson is forced to face Lewis (returning guest star Pablo Schreiber) in the courtroom, and the stress of reliving the attack causes setbacks in her recovery. With Lewis trying every trick in the book to continue his legal winning streak, Benson is forced to reveal some of the secrets she's kept about the ordeal.
"Modern Family" returns at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. When Phil gets sent to jail, it's up to Claire to bail him out. The only problem? All the banks are closed on Sunday, ATM's set a limit on withdrawals and Phil has hidden stacks of cash around the house.
"Super Fun Night" returns at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Kimmie invites James (guest star Nate Torrence) to her place for a dinner party. What could go wrong? Lots, especially when neighbors Dan, Benji and Ruby volunteer their catering services, and sister Jazmine (guest star Ashley Tisdale) and her new hubby Jason show up very drunk.
