Whitney Houston's 'Sparkle' being rushed to theaters; biopic in the works

jordin-sparks-whitney-houston-sparkle-columbia.jpgProducers of Whitney Houston's final film, "Sparkle," are reportedly working overtime to rush the movie into theaters. And, not surprisingly, a Houston biopic is already in the works with Rihanna's name floated to portray her on film.

According to TMZ, the producers of "Sparkle" are "working around the clock" to get the movie into theaters before it leaks online. It's release had been set for August, but it looks like we may see it a bit sooner.

And, right on cue, a Houston biopic project is already apparently in the planning stages and being put together by none other than Houston's longtime mentor Clive Davis, reports EW.

The U.K.'s Daily Mail writes that Rihanna is the frontrunner to play Houston with Jennifer Hudson, Vivica Fox and Jordin Sparks also on the short list. We assume Vivica would play the more mature Whitney while Rihanna, Jordin or Jennifer play the young, untouched by drugs version.
