Who is Marcus Lemonis?
Crain's Chicago Business featured him in their "40 under 40" in 2005. In 2007, RV Business Magazine named Marcus their Newsmaker of the Year at the age of 34, and Ernst & Young named him the 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year. And his small startup RV business? He ended up buying over 100 small RV dealerships across the country and turning them into the popular chain Camping World, the camping and RV supercenter. That small startup consolidated with Good Sam Enterprises in 2010, and will record close to $2.5 billion in sales in 2013.
That's taking chances, that literally pay off ... $2.5 billion times.
Marcus Lemonis took chances. Now, he's bringing that same risk vs. reward, winning spirit to CNBC, in the new primetime reality series "The Profit" premiering tonight at 10 p.m. et/pt. Each episode will feature Marcus stepping in to help a struggling entrepreneur save their business, while investing some of his own money. He'll "pay it forward" while teaching his personal motto: "Business success is about the Three P's: People, Process and Product." And he's willing to do the hard work and make the hard decisions to get these businesses back on track.
