Will Ferrell: 'American Idol's Simon Cowell is 'dream role'
Will Ferrell has his dream role in mind: "American Idol" judge and co-creator Simon Cowell.
The comedian says Cowell is the embodiment of Ferrell's character in the 2004 comedy "Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy."
"I would love to play Simon Cowell in a movie," Ferrell tells UK newspaper The Sun. "Heck, I would love it. It would be a dream role. It wouldn't be hard for me to play him because I see a lot of Ron Burgundy in Simon Cowell."
Hmmmm... larger than life, self-absorbed, blustery television personalities? Okay, we'd buy that. Ferrell's next step, he says, is to spend plenty of quality time with Cowell.
"Come on Simon," he tells The Sun. "You know it would be fun. I could spend some time shadowing you. We could spend time in your mansion in high trousers and black round-neck Ts just being rude to people, it would be great."
