We're remaking movies and TV shows on a consistently regular basis at this point... so why not do the same for music? Will Smith's 1991 hit "Summertime" is turning 21 this year, so naturally, it's time he give it a new twist.

Smith is returning to his Fresh Prince roots to remix his own song two decades later. His 2012 remix of "Summertime" will be available on June 11. It's for "Summertime 3," a new mix tape by his collaborators DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mick Boogie.

The duo's official launch page promises that the album will be "stocked with remixed hits that are cooler than those ice-cold treats we love, the mix is a compilation of tracks that have been inspiring us since the '90s."

TMZ has procured a little over a minute of Smith's new version of the classic summer song. What do you think?
