WNBA's Chamique Holdsclaw pleads guilty to assault after shooting

Former WNBA player Chamique Holdsclaw plead guilty Friday (June 14) to assault, among other charges, f ollowing an incident in November 2012. It all began when Holdsclaw had a confrontation with ex-girlfriend and former teammate Jennifer Lacy.

According to police, Holdsclaw smashed out the windows of Lacy's car with a baseball bat, before firing a gun into it. No one was injured in the shooting, but Holdsclaw was arrested after the incident.

According to Paul Howard, the Fulton Country District Attorney, Holdsclaw plead guilty to aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and other charges. As for punishment, she was sentenced to three years' probation, along with a $3,000 fine, the Associated Press reports.

Lacy and Holdsclaw played basketball together as members of the Atlanta Dream in 2008-2009. Lacy is a current member of the Tulsa Shock, while Holdsclaw last played for the San Antonio Silver Stars in 2010.
