Just when you thought the 2014 FIFA World Cup couldn't get any more exciting, it seems biting is allowed on the field now. During the final group stage match for Italy and Uruguay, it looks like Luis Suarez attempted to take a bite out of Giorgio Chiellini.

While at first glance, it appears that Suarez delivered an intentional headbutt, Chiellini was left with what clearly look like teeth marks on his shoulder. There were no fouls called after the collision because the referee was out of position.

Still, between the bite marks and Suarez holding his teeth after the play, there aren't many other explanations for what happened. It certainly doesn't help his case that Suarez has a history of biting on the field, which can be seen below. For what it's worth, Uruguay won the game, 1-0.
