WWE champion Daniel Bryan subdues burglar with choke hold

Earlier this week, former WWE champion Daniel Bryan (real name Bryan Danielson) was the victim of a break-in, but he turned the tables on the burglars. Watch above at the Phoenix, Ariz. police department press conference, as an officer recounts the crime.

On Thursday (July 24), Bryan and wife Brie Danielson came home and surprised the burglary in progress, causing the two men who had broken into their house to flee out the back door. Bryan gave chase and caught one of the men and subdued him with some wrestling moves. The other man remains at large.

Danielson credits his wonderful community for the rapid response to the burglars.

"I think the coolest thing about this to me is we had a neighbor who called in suspicious activity probably 10 minutes before we got home," says Danielson. "While I was subduing the one guy, we had people calling 911. Our community and our street has been very vigilant as far as keeping in contact with each other, watching out for each other."

He adds that, since they were so concerned for their dog, who was home alone at the time, the burglars are lucky his wife Brie -- also a member of the WWE family -- did not get a hold of them first.

"They're actually lucky I got them instead of Brie, she probably would have been more violent," says Danielson with a laugh.
