Update: After announcing they had released her from her contract, WWE now says they have reinstated Emma. Their statement is below.
"Upon further evaluation, WWE has reinstated Tenille Dashwood (WWE Diva Emma) but will take appropriate punitive action for her violation of the law."
Previously: WWE announced Wednesday (July 2) that they have released Emma, real name Tenille Dashwood, from her contract. The release comes two days after Dashwood was arrested in Hartford, Conn. for sixth-degree larceny.
The arrest came about after she was caught shoplifting an iPod Mini case. Dashwood's lawyer maintains that she simply forgot to pay for the item at the store's self-checkout machine, TMZ reports. She was sentenced to one day of community service for the misdemeanor.
Dashwood wasn't featured on Monday's "WWE Raw," however her name was mentioned during a backstage sketch by her on-screen acquaintance Santino Marella.
