nashville-wyclef-jean-abc.jpg "Nashville" is adding even more star power to its cast. Wyclef Jean has joined the ABC drama in a recurring role, Zap2it has confirmed. The freshman series stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere as dueling country music stars.

ABC would not reveal any character information just yet, only that the Fugees musician will be in multiple episodes. Zap2it confirmed the guest spot after Jean posted a photo of himself on the "Nashville" set.

UPDATE
: Jean will be playing the head of a music label, ABC confirms.

"On the With thé hotest cast on TV #Nashville @sampalladio @clarembee @jonathanjackson Rya kihlstedt pic.twitter.com/cNsoGSrf," Jean tweets. "I AM on a movie set for the new t v show Nashville on my birthday but im very excited! I told your i would Be working out for à flim!"

It's not Jean's first attempt at acting -- he has a handful of credits throughout the years, including several episodes of the medical drama "Third Watch" and a role in Beyonce's acting debut, the MTV movie "Carmen: A Hip Hopera."

Judging from the photo evidence alone (and nothing else), we'll hypothesize that maybe Jean is playing a music label exec? If he were playing a politician he'd be hanging out with Eric Close or Powers Boothe, not aspiring musicians Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio. [ UPDATE: Nailed it!]

What type of character do you think Jean should play on "Nashville"?
