'X Factor' 'soft porn'? Christina Aguilera and Rihanna's racy finale performance

christina-aguilera-rihanna-x-factor-rex-features-500.jpgThe Brits are in an uproar over the Season 7 finale (Dec. 11) of its reality talent show "The X Factor," but the controversy isn't about who won or lost.

Instead, singers Christina Aguilera and Rihanna offered up performances that shocked viewers at home, mainly because the sexualized content was shown before the watershed hour of 9 p.m., reports the Daily Mail.

Rihanna threw off a gown to reveal a bustier and tiny skirt while performing "What's My Name?" Later, Aguilera and some backup dancers appeared in skimpy outfits and danced suggestively for their "Burlesque" number. In particular, one backup dancer's ensemble caused one viewer to comment, "Christina's blonde dancer with the suspenders and bum hanging out is soft porn."

Ofcam, the British counterpart of the FCC, has received at least 2,750 complaints, while network ITV has received 1,500. Ofcam is investigating the complaints.

According to Ofcam's broadcasting code, "Children must be protected by appropriate scheduling from material that is unsuitable for them ... Material that is unsuitable for children should not, in general, be shown before 9 p.m. or after 5:30 a.m. ... Any discussion on, or portrayal of, sexual behaviour must be editorially justified if included before the watershed."

There was no nudity involved, but much skin was shown. See some of the racier outfits and judge for yourself.
