It's a good time to be a member of the X-Men. While it hasn't been officially announced, most expect the reveal of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" to be a big part of 20th Century Fox's Comic-Con panel, along with "Wolverine" and "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."
According to Vulture, over a dozen cast members from "Days of Future Past" will attend the panel, which may also include some footage from the upcoming movie.
The site has also reportedly learned some of the secrets Fox was going to spill during their Comic-Con presentation. If you don't want those details about the movie spoiled, read no further.
Though it was announced that Peter Dinklage has been cast in the movie, there's been no confirmation from director Bryan Singer about who the "Game of Thrones" actor would be playing. It seems he'll take on the part of Bolivar Trask, otherwise known as the creator of the Sentinel robots, which hunt mutants.
It's also believed that recently cast Australian actor Josh Helman will be playing a young Bill Stryker, the role played by Brian Cox in "X2: X-Men United" and Danny Huston in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
As for the movie's plot, Vulture says it's based on a storyline used in the comic books in 1981. In the story, the world is ruled by the Sentinels, leading Kitty Pryde ( Ellen Page) to send Wolverine ( Hugh Jackman) back in time to warn the X-Men, which is how the two timelines cross. However, while sending Wolverine back, something happens to Kitty, leaving the man with the claws stuck in the past.
Should this all be true, it sounds like a pretty good jumping off point for what should be an exciting movie.
As if all that isn't enough, Singer also shared a photo of yet another returning cast member. He leads with a quote from President John F. Kennedy, reading, "Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind," attached to a picture of Lucas Till on set. Till played the role of Havok in "X-Men: First Class."
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will be in theaters May 23, 2014. Follow Zap2it as we invade Comic-Con with coverage of this panel, along with all the other movies and TV shows presenting.
