'X Factor': 'Glee's' Darren Criss offered hosting gig

glee-darren-criss-250x300.jpgAmidst all the questions about who will replace Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger on "The X Factor," little consideration has been paid to who will take over the hosting duties. Well one name you can cross off your list is "Glee" star Darren Criss.

E! Online is reporting that Criss had been approached by the singing competition to take over for the fired Steve Jones. But Criss, who is busy with the TV show in addition to working on Broadway in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" as well as a film project, turned down the hosting gig.

The publication cites a source as saying, "They were after him...but there's no way he could have done it with everything he has going on."

No one has commented publicly on the matter.

EP Simon Cowell has previously stated that he is looking for one male and one female to co-host the show as it heads in to its second season.

So Zappers, who would you like to see hosting the show?
