yvette-nicole-brown-odd-couple-gi.jpgCBS' "Odd Couple" remake has cast "Community" star Yvette Nicole Brown in a key recurring role.

Brown will play Dani, sportswriter Oscar Madison's (Matthew Perry) assistant, CBS says. Sarah Baker, Perry's "Go On" co-star, played the role in the original pilot, but she and fellow co-star Georgia King left the show after it was picked up for 2014-15.

Since Brown won't be a series regular on "The Odd Couple," she would still be free to appear on Season 6 of "Community" on Yahoo Screen. "The Odd Couple," which will premiere on CBS in 2015, starts filming the week of Aug. 11. "Community" doesn't have a production start date yet, but it's likely to be later in the fall.

Perry and Thomas Lennon are playing Oscar and Felix in "The Odd Couple," which Perry also co-wrote. Wendell Pierce and Lindsay Sloane also star.
