Zach Galifianakis will be the next comedian to join the FX line-up with his comedy series "Baskets." The network announced Aug. 27 that it has ordered 10 episodes of the series which will begin production next year and launch in 2016.

Galifianakis will also star in the series, co-created by Emmy Award winner Louis C.K. and Jonathan Krisel -- who will also serve as showrunner and directed the pilot.

"Baskets" will follow aspiring clown Chip Baskets (Galifianakis) after his unsuccessful enrollment at a prestigious clown school in Paris. He manages to land a job at a rodeo and audiences will watch as Chris climbs the ladder to his dream of being a respected performance clown.

"Zach Galifianakis, Louis C.K. and Jonathan Krisel have created an absolutely brilliant show," says FX President of Original Programming Eric Schrier in a press statement. "To say Zach's portrayal of the lead character Chip Baskets is hilarious/unique/riveting/fascinating would be an understatement.  We can't wait for the world to meet him."
