'Bridget Jones' opens new chapter
A third installment of the unlucky-in-love series is in the works with star
The first two movies, 2001's "Bridget Jones's Diary" and 2004's "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," starred Zellweger as a hapless British reporter who devotes much of her energy to losing weight and finding a boyfriend.

Helen Fielding returned to the newspaper route after publication of "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason." The columns, which started in 2005, found Jones mad for motherhood and still torn between cad Daniel Cleaver and gentleman Mark Darcy.
Those entries will serve as the basis for a third film.
Production is scheduled to begin next year.
