'Hollywood at Home' follows gymnast Patterson home ... to Dallas
Included are the Tudor/Country French home of actress
Patterson, who spent six months assembling the elements for her first home with the help of her mother, describes her style as "modern, with traditional accents."
"My walls are a light gray color," she says. "My couch is a dark gray. I've got black and white and red accent colors. My barstools are red leather. I knew that's just the style I wanted to go for.
"My floors are dark wood that's hand-scraped; that's kind of more of a traditional type. Then, my media cabinet that I have my TV and picture frames in, that's more of a traditional piece. "It's not the kind of modern that's cement ceilings."
She's also ready
"I put up all my Christmas decorations over the weekend (before Thanksgiving)," she says. "I've got my pretty tree up. It's so much work to put all that up, I want to enjoy it."
Patterson's favorite thing? Her granite countertops. "I always get compliments on my granite. It was the first granite that I saw when I walked in. It was one of the higher cost levels, but I just loved it so much. Everyone always loves my granite when they come to my house and see it for the first time. I have black wood cabinets and these small black tiles as a backsplash. I have white square dishes; I have a few red plates, too."
