'Just My Luck' Star Lohan Kisses and Tells
In the film, she plays Ashley Albright, literally the luckiest girl in the world, whose good fortune reverses when she kisses a mysterious stranger (Chris Pine) at a masquerade party. When she finally figures out what happened, she goes on a multicandidate manhunt to track down her luck-stealer. "I'll tell you one thing that scared the poop out of me. Lindsay is walking along with me on the street and turns a corner and walks smack dab into a glass wall," says Petrie. "I thought, 'Oh my God, a broken nose,' and she's laughing at me. She did it supposedly on purpose."
While Lohan's prank inspired Petrie to put a similar scene into the movie, her character Ashley's newfound bad luck is the catalyst for a string of other physical mishaps that tested the actress' slapstick skills. She also ran the risk of injury when performing these scenes, whether it was falling into a mud sculpture face-first, getting punched in the face or barely ducking in time to avoid an rogue floor waxer.

Even though Lohan sprained her ankle during the film's production, she generally considers herself a fortunate girl, although she's not about to tempt fate about certain superstitions.
"No hats on the bed or hats on the table," she says. "I am psychotic when it comes to hats on the bed. For some reason, everyone puts a hat on my bed. I need to keep a sign up in my room."
"Just My Luck" takes its chances in theaters nationwide on Friday, May 12.
