John Fulton says guys 'Must Love Cats'
The host of the show is musician John Fulton, the musical mastermind and sidekick from theStream.tv's "Live! From the Future ... With Stuart Papp." A cat lover and owner since his childhood in a small town outside Boston, he combines his loves of felines and music by writing original songs for the show.
He also believes that despite cliches to the contrary, cats aren't just for women anymore.
"I think a lot of guys are cat people," he says. "Maybe they're quiet about it, or you just don't read about it. There are so many qualities of cats that lean to men -- the fact that they're hunters, that they prowl around, that they're smart, that they don't tell you everything, I always thought they were a guy's animal. I lived in a small town where they got to go outside. They were bringing home birds and mice. I always thought that was just so much more macho.
What's different about the music this season? "I took a different approach with it. I do about 40 songs a season. These songs are a little bit shorter; there are more sing-alongs this year. The songs are very specific. They're custom written just for the stories. This year, I waited until I met the people. Then, during lunch, or a break, I would write the song, so it was even more organic this year than it was last year."
