Police Notified After Hilton-Moakler Smackdown

In a video on the celebrity gossip site, Hilton's publicist Elliot Mintz explains that his client was at Hyde nightclub at around 1 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 4) when "[Moakler] struck Paris in her jaw with a closed fist. Paris was hit. She immediately exited the club through the back door.
"Paris told me it was a completely out-of-the-blue and without any provocation whatsoever, and in fact, while the alleged battery was taking place, Shanna was shouting all kinds of foul words at her and appeared to be completely out of control. That is what's being alleged in the complaint."
Although Hilton didn't need medical attention, she decided to report the incident to the police.
"If someone walks up to you and without provocation punches you in the face," says Mintz, "I think it's a very wise idea to go to the police and report the action and possibly even consider, with the approval of her attorneys, the issuance of some kind of restraining order because that kind of conduct simply cannot be tolerated for any reason at any time at any place."
Evidently, Moakler filed a police report of her own -- not against the celebutante, but against Hilton's ex Stavros Niarchos.
"It was my understanding that Shanna has filed her own complaint against Stavros alleging that he poured a drink over her head or something to that effect," says Mintz. "You'd have to ask her about that."
TMZ also reports that Niarchos allegedly pushed Moakler down some stairs.
