CBS Is on the 'Case' Sunday

ABC rested most of its lineup Sunday, leaving the path open for CBS to grab a Nielsen victory.

CBS averaged a 9.3 rating/14 share in primetime, easily outdistancing its competition. ABC took second with a 5.8/9. NBC, 4.9/8, came in third, ahead of FOX, 3.9/6. The CW trailed with a 1.7/3.

ABC, however, still led among adults 18-49 with a 3.3 rating. FOX and CBS tied for second in the key ad demographic at 3.0, and NBC took fourth at 2.8. The CW drew a 1.1.

CBS began the night with "60 Minutes" drawing a 9.3/15 at 7 p.m. "America's Funniest Home Videos," 5.6/9, put ABC in second. NBC came in third with "Grease: You're the One That I Want," 4.1/7. Reruns of "'Til Death" and "The War at Home" were fourth for FOX, edging out an hour of "Reba," 2.0/3, on The CW.

"Cold Case," 9.4/14, kept CBS in the lead at 8 p.m. ABC gat a 6.8/10 from a repeat of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," while a second hour of "Grease" improved to 5.1/8 on NBC. "The Simpsons," 4.8/7, and the season premiere of "King of the Hill," 4.3/6, held onto fourth for FOX. The CW went with "7th Heaven."

At 9 p.m., the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie "Valley of Light" held steady for CBS with a 9.3/14. A "Desperate Housewives" repeat on ABC posted a 6.5/10. "The Apprentice" delivered a 5.2/8 for NBC, narrowly beating FOX's "Family Guy," 5.3/8, and "American Dad," 4.6/7 (FOX led all comers in adults 18-49 for the hour). A "Beauty and the Geek" repeat closed the night for The CW.

"Valley of Light" completed the CBS sweep of the night at 10 p.m. with a 9.2/15. NBC moved up to second with "Crossing Jordan," 5.4/9, beating a "Brothers & Sisters" rerun on ABC.

On Saturday, CBS' crime-drama repeats and "48 Hours" led the night with a 5.0/9. ABC and FOX tied for second at 4.1/7, and NBC trailed with a 3.4/6.
