Crime Dramas Score for CBS Wednesday

Though its new drama "Jericho" posted not-bad ratings Wednesday, CBS won the night on the backs of its returning crime shows. The CW also got off to a nice start, while NBC's "Kidnapped" struggled.

For the night, CBS averaged a 9.4 rating/15 share to beat out ABC's 8.3/13. There was big drop from there to third-place NBC, 4.8/8. FOX came in fourth with a 4.2/7, and the first night of original programming on The CW delivered a 3.4/5.

CBS also led in the adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.2 rating. ABC came in second with a 3.7, and NBC took third with a 3.0. The CW, 2.6, topped FOX, 2.2, for fourth place.

The "Dancing with the Stars" results show, 10.2/17, put ABC on top at 8 p.m. The debut of "Jericho" drew a 7.5/12 for CBS. "Bones," 4.7/8, put FOX in third, ahead of the season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" on NBC. The season premiere of "America's Next Top Model" on The CW posted a 3.1/5.

CBS took over at 9 p.m. with "Criminal Minds," 10.1/16. ABC dropped one spot to second with a repeat of the "Grey's Anatomy" season finale. "The Biggest Loser" improved to 5.1/8 for NBC. FOX's "Justice," 3.7/6, edged "Top Model," 3.6/6, in households, but The CW show had more total viewers and a better 18-49 rating.

At 10 p.m., "CSI: NY" brought in the night's biggest audience for CBS with a 10.6/18. "Grey's Anatomy" averaged a 7.3/12 for ABC. The premiere of "Kidnapped" on NBC didn't abduct many viewers, coming in at 5.1/8.
