Game Time: "SSX"
Over a decade ago, EA Sports BIG published a game that would revolutionize the way people viewed the seldom-digitized sport of snowboarding. Between the colorful characters and even more colorful locales, the original "SSX" treated gamers to a visually stunning and highly entertaining racing experience while using supercharged music tracks to bring it all together. Through the years that followed, the series not only evolved its gameplay but its personality as well, injecting an already solid concept with humor and wit that became as fun to watch as the snowboarding itself. Now the high-flying tricks have returned on an epic scale with EA Sports' latest snow-covered masterpiece, "SSX" for the
The concept of "SSX" is pretty straightforward: Pick your favorite character, find a slope, and snowboard from start to finish while racking up massive points through death-defying tricks. Several daredevils are at your disposal, from Canadian bombshell Elise Riggs to Afro-clad hipster Eddie Wachowski, with their own unique moves and personalities. Once you've found the right character for you, just launch yourself into the world and make yourself a snowboarding legend.
"SSX" is an over-the-top take on the sport of snowboarding, complete with gravity-defying jumps and breakneck speeds over iconic mountain ranges. With more than 150 drops, you'll find no shortage of ramps, grind points and environmental obstacles, giving you ample opportunity to fill your Tricky Meter and launch into some awe-inspiring Uber Tricks. The all-new Survive It game mode will have you traveling to the most frightening destinations the snowboarding world has to offer. With crippling temperatures, ice, rock, avalanches and trees, thoughts of tricks will leave your mind as you only hope to reach the bottom of each run in one piece. Online gameplay has also been given the once-over, which includes the addition of Global Events and RiderNet. In Global Events, you'll compete against live riders in real time on a massive scale with a single goal of posting high scores to advance on the leaderboard. RiderNet acts as a guide and social network, showing you where your friends are posting high scores, offering new friend suggestions and allowing you to "like" certain runs.
With more slopes, more modes and more online capabilities, this latest "SSX" will have gamers singing
