Former 'Idol' Tucker Books FOX Pilot

Lisa Tucker may not have been last season's "American Idol," but she may be back on FOX this fall.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tucker has booked a role in the network's drama pilot "Born in the USA."

It's probably no coincidence that "Born in the USA" comes from 19 Entertainment, the company behind "American Idol." Tucker was the 10th place finisher on the fifth season of "Idol."

"Born in the USA" is an atypically structured half-hour soap intended for primetime. It focuses on the lives of blue collar families in Philadelphia. The trade paper will only say that Tucker's character is "a smart, beautiful girl with a good sense of humor."

The 17-year-old Tucker, already a veteran of the Los Angeles cast of "The Lion King," followed up her "Idol" experience with a guest turn on FOX's "The O.C." and appearances in multiple episodes of Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101."
