"Celebrity Duets": I sat down to watch this show on
First of all, the celebrities were trying too hard -- to the point where I was a little uncomfortable for them. They're trying hard on "Dancing with the Stars" too, but on that show they are concentrating so much on the actual dance steps their utter desire to win is not as obvious. The other big difference -- when they tried that hard the results were better. Lisa Rinna danced her little heart out and was entertaining every step of the way.
Secondly, the celebrity singers didn't look too happy to be there.

So, there's really no need to pick on "Happy Hour" (Thursday, FOX, 8 p.m.), I can't imagine the show will make it past the baseball playoffs. It is the epitome of all that can go wrong with a comedy -- lame jokes, histrionic performances and an unbelievable premise (everyone it the apartment building meets up for a 4 p.m. happy hour).
