zap2it-comic-con-2014-panels.jpgWednesday (July 23) marks a pretty important day for the geekosphere: San Diego Comic-Con kicks off in the city's Gaslamp District. Zap2it is one of many news outlets taking the annual pilgrimage down to the nerd mecca, and we're going to take you with us through our coverage.

In honor of Comic-Con 2014's Preview Night (aka today), here is a preview of the 14 panels we at Zap2it are most excited to cover. Then tune in shortly after each show's panel takes place over the next few days for our report on what news was announced, footage was revealed and buzzworthy moments took place.

13. & 14. 'Supernatural' and 'Teen Wolf'

While "Supernatural" and "Teen Wolf" are sure to reveal lots of great content for their respective upcoming seasons at their panels, let's face it, we're just excited to see two of the most attractive casts on television. Tie!

12. 'iZombie'

It's no secret that we're big "Veronica Mars" fans here at Zap2it. That's why we're so excited about seeing the pilot of Rob Thomas' new series "iZombie" on Preview Night (and talking to the cast on Friday).

11. 'Bones'

What could top "Bones'" 2013 Comic-Con proposal? We can't wait to find out. David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel are sure to outdo themselves in 2014.

"Community" was saved at the last minute by Yahoo for a Season 6, so we expect to hear all about the long-promised "movie" at TV Guide's panel celebrating Greendale Community College.

With many Season 5 casting rumors swirling, a lot of people (including us) are expecting "Game of Thrones" to announce some major new cast members for the upcoming season at its Comic-Con panel. Fingers crossed.

Another tie! Both "True Blood" and "Sons of Anarchy" are celebrating their final Comic-Con panels this year, and both events are sure to be special as fans say goodbye to the beloved shows.

What could be better than the debut of the "Agents of SHIELD" pilot at the Marvel TV panel in 2013? The fact that both "SHIELD" and "Agent Carter" will be featured in this year's panel, of course. Consider us stoked.

Based on the fact Ian Somerhalder will be appearing at "The Vampire Diaries" panel even after Damon Salvatore's Season 5 "death," you can bet that will be a topic of discussion at the panel teasing Season 6. We want answers!

4. 'Outlander'

Starz's adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" is shaping up to be one of the biggest new shows at Comic-Con. Zap2it will not only be checking out the show's panel, but also chatting with the cast at the "Outlander" premiere and press rooms. We fully expect to be speaking Gaelic by the end of Comic-Con weekend.

2. & 3. Warner Bros. and Marvel movie panels

While TV is a huge part of Comic-Con in 2014, it's not the only industry that's showing off its geeky side. Warner Bros. is expected to reveal something -- anything! -- about "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," while Marvel is anticipated to make some big announcements about the next phase of their movies (aka unveiling the full cast of "The Avengers: Age of Ultron"). Both are tied as can't-miss panels.

1. WBTV's nighttime extravaganza

But since we at Zap2it are obsessed with TV, we're most excited about WBTV's epic four-show-long panel for the studio's four comic book TV show properties: "The Flash," "Gotham," "Constantine" and "Arrow." We'll be in the crowd sharing the best moments from the July 26 screening event, which "Arrow" star Stephen Amell is emceeing. Amazing.
