Adam Sandler Triumphs After Breaking Ankle
Injury won't affect shooting his next film
Comedian Adam Sandler wasn't laughing over the weekend when he suffered a sports injury."The Longest Yard" actor broke his ankle Saturday (March 29) while playing a rigorous game of basketball, announced his rep in a statement. There was no word if it was his right or left ankle.
Despite the setback, his team still won the game.
The injury won't affect Sandler's work though. Shooting on his latest film, "Bedtime Stories," remains on schedule. The family fantasy comedy, which will be released around the Christmas holidays, stars Sandler as a hotel handyman whose bedtime stories that he invents for his niece and nephew magically come true.
Before that, his film "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," about a Mossad agent who fakes his own death and then reemerges as a hairstylist in New York City, will hit theaters this summer. His most recent credits include "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," "Reign Over Me" and "Click."
