'Bachelorette' Couple DeAnna Pappas, Jesse Csincsak Split
She loves the pro snowboarder, but isn't "in love" with him
Trista Sutter is getting kind of lonely since another "Bachelorette" couple has bitten the dust."The Bachelorette" couple DeAnna Pappas and pro-snowboarder Jesse Csincsak have broken off their engagement, it was announced today (Nov. 3) via video on their joint website, DeAnnaandJesse.com.
On the site, Csincsak posted a brief YouTube video relating how Pappas had broken up with him when he picked her up from the airport in Breckenridge, Colorado.
"I kind of feel like it's our responsibility to tell you we're not together anymore," he says "DeAnna broke up with me two days ago, and I just wanted to come on here and tell you guys face-to-face that I'm sorry.
"I did everything in my power to try and make this work," he continues. "She's a great person, but she's not willing to try anymore. She wanted something different, I guess. The answer I got was, 'I love you, but I'm not in love with you.' That's a lot to swallow, no matter who you are. It's a lot to take in. When you're in love, you put yourself out there. It's a lot, a lot to take in."
At that point, the obviously upset Csincsak cut off the video.
Later, in an interview with "Extra," Csincsak reveals a few more details, such as the fact that Pappas wanted to move to Los Angeles and wasn't willing to go to couples' counseling. In the video chat, he reveals that perhaps her feelings weren't as true as his own.
"I told her, 'That bothers me that the only time you want to kiss me or hold on to me is in front of the cameras,'" he says.
Nevertheless, despite his doubts about her motives, he would be willing to reconcile and take her back.
"Everybody makes mistakes. I would give her a second shot," he confesses. "I mean, I love that woman. I guess I would say, 'I'm sorry for whatever I did that made you not want to be with me.' I just want to tell her I love her and I want her to be happy whether it's with or without me."
Pappas, 26, was notoriously rejected by previous "Bachelor" Brad Womack who opted not to choose either woman -- Pappas nor her reality-show rival Jenni Croft. As "The Bachelorette," Pappas accepted the proposal of Csincsak, 26, over that of single dad Jason Mesnick, who will become the next "Bachelor" in the show's 13th season.
Shortly after the finale of "The Bachelorette," Pappas and Csincsak announced their engagement and set their wedding date for May 9, 2009.
The only romance that has led to a walk down the aisle on all the seasons of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" is the one between Trista Rehn and her chosen firefighter Ryan Sutter. Together they have one son and another baby on the way.
