'The Practice' actor was married to Shiva Rose for nearly 13 years

"The Practice" veteran Dylan McDermott has ended his marriage in the eyes of the law.

The actor and his wife Shiva Rose have finalized their divorce on Tuesday, after nearly 13 years of marriage, report news sources.

McDermott, 47, filed for divorce in May, citing irreconcilable differences. At the time, they were seeking joint custody of their daughters: Collette, 12, and Charlotte, 3.

Neither party hired lawyers. Details of the settlement weren't revealed, but after the six-month waiting period, McDermott will be officially single on Jan. 2.

The couple met in a coffee shop and were wed in November 1995. They separated in 2007.

Rose, 39, has made guest appearances on "CSI: Miami" and "Las Vegas." On the big screen, she recently starred in the romantic comedy "David & Layla" opposite David Moscow.

McDermott, who played defense attorney Bobby Donnell on "The Practice" for many years, returned briefly to TV with the now-defunct "Big Shots" on ABC. His film credits also include "Twister," "In the Line of Fire," "Miracle on 34th Street," "Texas Rangers," "Party Monster" and "The Messengers."

He was recently cast in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced drama pilot "The Line" for TNT to play the lieutenant of an undercover unit in the Los Angeles Police Department.
