'Tonight Show' sidekick and his wife took out loans two years ago

Ed McMahon's financial woes have not ended.

The former "Tonight Show" sidekick was sued by Westmoore Lending for not paying back loans that were taken out two years ago, reports TMZ.com.

In a lawsuit filed Monday, Aug. 11, Westmoore claims that they had loaned McMahon and his wife $250,000 in July 2006. The couple defaulted in February 2007, and then in April paid back $5,000 in good faith so they could receive an extension.

The full amount of the loan was supposed to be repaid on August 2, 2007, more than a year ago, but Westmoore didn't receive any money. The lending company is suing for $250,000 plus interest and attorney fees.

In June, the 85-year-old McMahon defaulted on $4.8 million in mortgage loans with a unit of Countrywide Financial Corp. in an attempt to avoid foreclosure on his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills estate.
